Oltrarno district: noble life at Pitti Palace and hidden Florence

The Pitti Palace was once a stately home and now houses several museums. During our tour we will visit the Galleria Palatina, which features works by Raphael, Titian, Caravaggio, Rubens and Velasquez. The Medici, from the 16th century until the 18th century, used this unique setting as their personal apartments and audience rooms. As we walk through the stately apartments we get a flavour of the Medici times. We will continue with the marvellous Boboli Gardens, the place where nature, art, science and architecture meet. The tour will continue in the Oltrarno, the trendiest neighbourhood in the city today but in the past the district where workers and artisans settle down. This is the best place in the city where to enter workshops, boutiques, exclusive perfumery laboratories, high end accessories ateliers, milliners and have the opportunity to talk with artisans and see them at work.
