As a professional and licensed guide, it is my pleasure to introduce the magnificent city of Florence to my clients. Florence is the cradle of the Renaissance and is unrivalled in history, art and architecture.
I hold a specialized degree in history and art, and actively participate in the Florentine community, which is enriched with artisans, exquisite food and wine, fashion, craftsmanship, traditions and costumes. Your tours will be enhanced by a combination of past and contemporary curiosities, anecdotes, myths and peculiarities.
My involvement in the daily life of this creative community provides me with valuable insights to share with people from all around the world, many of whom wish to consider themselves as temporary residents, rather than visitors. The life I live here is impregnated with the “genius loci” of Florence.
The Romans were among the first civilisations to conceive the concept of Genius Loci. In ancient Roman times the Genius was a benevolent god who watched over people and the community. In a short period of time the concept was also extended to places, with the name Genius Loci, the genius of the place (locus).
It became a sort of personification of the place. It is my belief that what distinguishing one place from another is its unique spirit. Every place has its own unique qualities, each city has a distinctive atmosphere and my mission is to show it to you by entering inside churches, visiting museums, tasting wines and cheeses, walking squares and streets, shopping like a local, discovering artisan’s workshops.
Not only will I expand your knowledge and understanding of Florence and its territory with data about the past, I would very much like to open your eyes to the present as well, so you are able to savour it fully.
